ILITE STEM Expo 2017
ILITE Robotics, a FIRST Robotics Team based in Haymarket, hosted a STEM Expo at Battlefield High School on January 28. More than 2,000 participants were treated to over fifty demonstrations and hands-on activities related to science, technology, engineering, arts and math. Featured exhibitors included the US Army Band, who performed “STEAM – The Musical”; the Haymarket Police force demonstrated how their service uses technology; and the National Park Service brought an experiential learning display. Student organizations from Battlefield High School and several other schools in the county donated time and talent to share their knowledge with the community. Over two hundred volunteers helped make the day a tremendous success. Sponsors of the ILITE STEM Expo include the Armed Forces Communications Electronics Association (AFCEA), Battlefield High School, and the US STEM Foundation.
