Lego Robotics

US STEM sponsors the 48-team Haymarket FLL Regional competition along with numerous LEGO teams in the community.

The US STEM Foundation was formed in September 2011 by a group of parents, teachers, and business leaders who sought to give students more opportunities to participate in hands-on technology-based activities. We recognize that classroom time isn’t enough to sufficiently develop students’ technical acumen and that STEM-oriented extracurricular activities were proving to be both popular and effective. However, these activities require a nontrivial amount of coordination and, due to the materials, toolsets, and equipment needed, require significant investment. The US STEM Foundation coordinates and subsidizes activities that inspire the next generation of STEM professionals leveraging programs, hands-on activities, services, and strategies that will engage, educate, develop, and create responsible citizens.
